Support Worker

About Me

I’m a friendly mum of two beautiful children - a boy, 8 and a girl, 3. I was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia but also spent a year living over on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. After graduating high school I became a qualified makeup artist. I also have experience working across hospitality, administration and most recently I ran a successful transport business with my partner of 16 years. After navigating my own personal experience, in which one of my children requires support, I developed a strong willingness to help support other families in the community.

What are some of my strengths and hobbies?

Some of my key strengths are patience, reliability, compassion, respect and a strong ability to see the positives. I am also able to adapt my approach to suit my clients individual requirements.

I am very creative and love coming up with fun and exciting ideas to help engage the children I work with. I enjoy expressing my creativity though art and crafts.

In my spare time I taught myself how to bake and decorate cakes to a high standard! My latest cake consisted of over eleven hours in handmade elements!

What do I enjoy learning about?

Whilst I love learning about new crafting gadgets, techniques and applications, I also throughly enjoy reading and researching all aspects of autism and anxiety to further my knowledge, professional development, growth and most of all help support and understand my clients better.

Why do I like supporting children with an autism diagnosis and their families?

I find it extremely rewarding to support children with an autism diagnosis. Watching them become more independent and confident in their own individual abilities is priceless. Sometimes the smallest things mean the most to parents and it is an absolute honour and privilege getting to “celebrate the wins” with the wonderful families that use our services!
