Support Work Services

ACT for Autism Australia offer support workers who are passionate about supporting autistic children and we aim to become part of a family’s village. We specialise in assisting children under 16 years old with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder residing in the Perth metropolitan area of Western Australia. Support workers receive ongoing autism-specific training and professional development and are available to provide 1:1 care in the home and the community.

A parent of a current or future client requesting one or more support workers will be contacted to discuss the information they have provided in their Expression of Interest for Support Worker Services and when suitable staff become available an induction period for the support worker and the family will begin.

A number of familiarisation shifts will be arranged and must be completed before a support worker can complete unsupervised time with your child. The number and nature of familiarisation shifts will be different for every client and this will be discussed with the family.

Unless otherwise arranged, support workers are available to work between 0600 and 2000 7 days a week in home and community settings. **Support workers funded by Capacity Building NDIS funds have limited weekend availability due to our company's commitment to comply with the SCHAD award expectations as well as the NDIS Price Limits. Services provided on public holidays are only available for our clients with a Core support budget.
