Kat

I am a passionate and dedicated high school visual art teacher with a deep commitment to fostering creativity and self-expression in my students. With several years of experience working as a support worker for children with an autism diagnosis, I bring a compassionate and understanding approach to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments.

My work as an Education Assistant in a mainstream high school setting over the last two years has broadened my capacity for understanding and assisting students with diverse learning and behavioural needs.

My lived experience of having a brother with a disability has given me a unique perspective on empathy, patience, and the importance of individualized support.

As a mother of two girls and the proud owner of a spirited schnauzer puppy, I am constantly inspired by family life and the joy of nurturing both my students and loved ones. My love for all things creative fuels my approach to teaching, encouraging students to explore and develop their own artistic voices while celebrating diversity and individuality.

Aimee and Maple

About Aimee:

Aimee is a devoted and nurturing mother of two beautiful children and a proud fur mum to Maple, a friendly and lovable golden retriever. With a passion for creating meaningful connections and fostering growth, Aimee has dedicated over two years to supporting children with autism as a caring and empathetic support worker.

An art and craft enthusiast at heart, Aimee finds immense joy in helping others express themselves through creativity. She is thrilled to bring her love of art into her work, encouraging participants in our art classes to explore their imagination and discover the joy of self-expression.

Aimee’s latest passion project is training Maple as a support companion animal. Combining her love for animals and her commitment to helping others, Aimee envisions Maple spreading happiness, comfort, and connection to children and adults alike. Whether through art classes or Maple’s future role as a therapy dog for an autistic person, Aimee is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of those she supports.

Aimee believes in the power of creativity, kindness, and the unbreakable bond between humans and animals - and she’s excited to share this passion with her community.

About Maple:

Maple is a six-month-old golden retriever with a heart as golden as her fur. Friendly, lovable, and full of energy, Maple has quickly become a source of joy for everyone she meets. She absolutely adores the beach, where she can splash in the waves and dig in the sand, and her love for people is as boundless as her enthusiasm for pats and belly rubs.

With her gentle demeanor and natural affection, Maple is on a special journey to become a companion animal. Aimee, her dedicated owner, is committed to training Maple to bring comfort and happiness to children and adults alike.

Maple’s favorite things include walks on the beach, tasty treats, and making new friends wherever she goes. As part of her role in our art class as a companion animal, she’s excited to help others experience the incredible bond and healing power that animals bring. Maple truly embodies the spirit of unconditional love and is ready to share it with all who cross her path.
