About Me
For most of my working life I have been involved in Mathematical Education. But 8 years ago I had a Heart Transplant which changed my attitude to life. My passion, although still very fond of Mathematics and computing, is making the life of the people around me better/more enjoyable. I believe I was put on this earth to make a positive difference to every one I interact with. This is what gives me purpose. I have been married for 31 years and have two fantastic children, aged 22 and 18, and a wonderful wife.
What are some of my strengths and hobbies?
The nerd in me loves puzzles, cards, games, computers, mathematics and problem solving. My other hobbies are snowboarding, kayaking and squash. I also like to go to the movies and taking my two cavoodles for walks daily. Finally I love spending time or having dinner with my friends and family.
What do I enjoy learning about?
Computer Programming, Applicable Mathematics, Psychology and Sociology. I like using YouTube to find out how to fix things and learning how they work.
Why do I like supporting children with an autism diagnosis and their families?
I am a little peculiar myself. I have suffered being bullied at school for being a nerd. I have also gone through depression as a result of my previous heart issue. So I like to think I can relate well with Autistic people. I can empathise with hardship and so want to become an advocate for those who feel misunderstood and find it absolutely rewarding helping them achieve their goals.
