Josh

Support Worker

About Me

My name is Joshua, born and raised in Perth and recently returned after living in the Gold Coast. I have a background in physical training and have a passion for supporting children and young adults in finding happiness within themselves. I have lots of experience working with children with ASD and I am dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where every child can flourish. I believe in personalised care that complements each child’s unique journey and promotes their growth, independence and happiness.

What are some of my strengths and hobbies?

My hobbies include anything relating to physical fitness, sports and self care. If not working I’ll be outside exploring what beautiful WA has to offer, spending time with my nieces and nephew or training hard in the gym with my fiancé. My strengths would include communication, which allows me to better understand individuals and to create a claming and supporting environment. I also consider myself very adaptable and be able to be very flexible in my approach to meet challenges.

What do I enjoy learning about?

I enjoy learning about people from other cultures and walks of life. I find interesting anything that differs from my experiences and understanding of the world. I also enjoy learning about new forms of self care and individual support strategies.

Why do I like supporting children with an autism diagnosis and their families?

I have always enjoyed working with younger individuals as I have seen first hand the positive impacts a good support system can bring. I find it extremely fulfilling to see individuals go from strength to strength and conquer challenges that they once considered unachievable. Also, the bonds formed with their families are incredibly rewarding. Achieving goals, the big and the small, go a long way in improving the lives of the families and friends involved.
